Athletic 0-2 Airdrie...

again played 3 x 30mins. Used all 17 players, only Frazer Currie out injured.

Matched a good Airdrie side well in the first 30 mins. Monty having a chance early on but the bounce of the ball eluded him. Some neat play from all in the first 30 mins, some McKay throws putting the away side under pressure but again fitness began to take its toll on a few players that have had no pre season up until now. First 30 finished 0-0.

2nd 30..............6 changes made.Before the new players could settle Airdrie scored. The home defence had a couple of opportunities to clear but Airdrie got the break of the ball....made enough space to get a shot away, GK Dickson saved well but Airdrie followed up the save - first to the ball saw them go 1 up.

Soon after they made it 2. A cut back was missed by GK Dickson - the same area where the ball took a wicked bounce when Monty missed earlier saw Darren miss the ball and the Airdrie striker tapped in. Fair play to Airdrie, after a pretty even first 30 mins they dominated the middle 30.

3rd and final 30 saw a further 5 changes. This time Athletic may have had most of the play but no clear chances were made. However a good first and last 30 saw us match this very good Airdrie side.5 of the players that played in the middle 30 have had no pre season....their fitness levels will improve.

All played their part again, some very good performances, no player to blame for the goals. MOM to Capt. McIness.
